About

Hiram and his red ebike

Welcome to Hiram's Corner. This site was originally designed as a project for my web development class. Revolving around my hobbies and interests, much of the content is personal and varies in topic. The site has recently been redesigned and now includes examples of some of the work I have done in school and on my own. Click here to visit the old site. I write all my web code and scripts using Komodo Edit on a Macbook Pro. The newly revised site features a responsive design which adjusts the layout for optimal viewing on all types of devices including Desktop computers, notebooks, tablets, and phones. The site also loads content dynamically rather than jumping from page to page. Please browse around and let me know what you think by filling out my feedback form.

What's New

Gone With The Wind

Artwork

New Artwork! I found a few boxes containing a lot of old pencil and ink drawings from the late eighties and early nineties. They were in surprisingly good shape. Many of them were sealed in plastic which helped preserve them quite well.

People Magazine

Printed Material

Are books are disappearing? Will ebooks and digital delivery of news and related media eventually lead to the end of printed media? Even comic books and magazines are available in digital formats. Is there still a demand for a physical copy or is it just a waste of paper?

Hiram at Celebration of Running

Run for a cause

The challenges and the rewards of running make it my favorite form of exercise. I don't even think of it so much as exercise as a release and recreational outing. The running events, sponsored by Track Shack, benefit many organizations and causes. See my pictures from running events here.

Hobbies

Running has been the exercise of choice for me, at least lately. keeping fit can have its challenges. However, it seems that running produces the quickest results for me. I did not enjoy runnning until I was a little older. It was by chance that I began to consider running, at least seriously.
Bicycles have always been a part of my life, as long as I can remember. I enjoy riding, restoring, and collecting all types of bicycles. My collection is diverse varying from vintage schwinn classics to custom electric cruisers. As always, there is a story to it all. The McPhersons
